🚨 GOOGLE IS KILLING ANDROID FREEDOM. 🚨

This #DiDay we call on you to take action & sign the petition:
https://www.change.org/p/keep-android-open-stop-google-from-limiting-apk-file-usage

Because Google must not decide what you can & can't download on YOUR Android device.

This undermines one of Android’s defining features: the freedom to install software from wherever you choose. 😤

#Android is supposed to be open, & your phone should be yours → NOT GOOGLES.

It’s time to support open alternatives like @GrapheneOS ✊

https://www.theguardian.com/law/2026/oct/04/ministers-drop-radical-plans-cut-jury-trials-outcry-lawyers-centuries-old-right-courts. This is excellent news! The plans were a disgusting #attack on our #civilrights, & ought never to have been proposed in the first place. The remedy for the backlog in the #criminal #courts is more #money & #resources for them, not attempts to deprive #defendants of their #rights!

@jon What I always feel gets missed out on the subject of bird deaths is: nothing has a bigger overall, long-term impact on bird populations than habitat loss.

And what makes habitat loss a much, much more pressing concern? Climate change.

Over a longer period, turbines can save the lives of countless birds.

Se escuchaba en cada grupo. La mayor manifestacion en #Toledo desde los 8M de principios de los 2010s.

Why do all the renders of this new station seem to show more of the carpark than the actual station. Will it have comfortable waiting areas? A bridge/underpass with lift access? A nice cafe for passengers?

All this shows is a carpark...

Thank you once again Politico for providing a canonical example of when not to grant anonymity.

Brilliant and hilarious. I have that exact edition of The Elements of Typographic Style within arm’s reach as I type this.

Here's a Black Kite exposing its nictitating membrane. This Black Kite was resting on top of a tree this morning. Almost didn't see it as we were driving fast, so I had to do a double look or I would have totally missed this amazing opportunity to capture it. Bird photography is being on the right time, right place, right weather, right sunlight, right everything lol. #BirdPhotography #BirdsofAustralia #BirdsofFediverse #FediBirds #Wildlife #BirdsofPixelfed #BirdsofMastodon #AustralianBirds

I'm sick of all the negativity on here, so today's Low Quality Ad is for this inspirational Rainbow Pin. I don't know about you guys, but I really needed to see this today.

@benpate @ClankerAinter I’m just getting started but I’d like to build it bigger. I don’t know if there are other ways to do it but I would think adding my automod as a mod on an instance is the way to do it. Plus that way I can monitor signups on your instance.

I’m definately open to suggestions. I could easily post lists on the gitbhub page.

@idzie Hockey, maple syrup, and are you people really so nice? It’s terrible here.
